An idea for highway safety at Crossly field school to reduce the impact of traffic and beyond Well house lane.
Hi, Guys just keeping you all in the loop as it was, at this up and coming Tuesdays Mirfield Town Council meeting 5th March 2019 I have proposed and managed to secure, on the agender the footpaths which connect Crossley and Northorpe wards my idea is to upgrade the public footpaths for a safer journey to Schools for out of catchment purples not just for Crossley field school it would also provide better access to Mirfield Free Grammar School.
The total length of the paths shown dashed red on the attached plan above is 845 metres. The guide cost to surface this would be £67,500. This is for the formation of the path, removal of spoil, timber edging, geotextile and sandstone aggregate to a compacted depth of approximately 100mm.
The sections on the plan are:
A-B 485 metres
C-D 230 metres
B-E 130 metres
Total = 845m2
Now that Kirklees local plan has been accepted there will be more money from new homes bonus schemes to tap into let’s use it for Mirfield.
The footpaths are used daily the diversity impact is wider form ramblers, to dog walks, and the like, however in summer months nettles and over-growth restrict the paths and in winter the paths become a mud path which makes them very hard going for people to use.
