After reading Kirklees Council led by Labour Public space protection order on fires; BBQs and Bonfires, Bonfires which I may ad November is a very wet time of the year.
The Labour-run Kirklees Council should be held responsible for creating large areas of POS areas, parks and turning them into an overgrown fire risk Kirklees Council say to save public money by cutting the outer areas of POS areas, parks and leaving the middle section to grow out of control. I am sure the fire chief would agree and the best prevention is to cut all the grass. Photos are from Knowl park Mirfield many more parks and POS areas are in the same condition 8th July 2018.

This unusual prolonged dry spell we are enjoying as now beaten any dry spell on record, however, Kirklees are penalizing our leisure time and our culture, and let’s face it, we love it, what should we do? for me, I will continue to enjoin this weather and continue to pressure Kirklees to cut all the grass in our POS areas and Parks.

But don’t be deterred when the summer storms hit Kirklees, roads and properties will flood, pluvial flooding as not been managed by Kirklees. Kirklees and the stakeholders Yorkshire water environmental agency will simple announce flood warnings we the public will be expected to just get on with it just like we are now with our BBQs and Bonfires, or should we fine Kirklees for bad management.

    Kind Regards

    Steve Benson
